Fresh Tastes, Fresh Produce, Fresh Flowers

As I look back on week nine, I tried to think of my favourite dish of the week.  Obviously the honeycomb ice cream was really good.

But Thursday I made bisque from the shells of the prawns. We had made scampi from the meat.  It was really good, so smooth and velvety, and rich.  Pam, who miraculously manages to teach, and take care of the ordering (no mean feat, especially as we learned yesterday, one supplier would only accept orders as gaeilge), got the call the boat had landed in Ballycotton with the prawns, and within 1 hour we were eating them.  You cannot get any fresher than that!

But Friday I made two dishes that would go quite quickly into my shortlist for “meals of excellent taste awards”.

And Chocolate tart.  The pastry was a bit fiddly, and it teases you as it takes ages to cool, and therefore set before you can cut it.

The week just flew, but the flowers remind us of Spring, even if we don’t have time to go out and see them!
